Minna R.
Selub, M.D.,
FACOG. Medical Director.
Dr. Selub graduated from prestigious Smith
College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the
Mount Sinai School of Medicine
in New York. She was a resident of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Beth Israel Medical
Center in New York City, and completed a three-year fellowship in Reproductive
Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North
Carolina. At Duke, Dr. Selub performed research on the mechanism of sperm-egg
interaction at the time of fertilization. Before establishing F.I.R.S.T., Dr.
Selub was Assistant Professor in the University of Miami, School of Medicine,
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology
where she was Director of the Program for Assisted Reproductive
Technologies (A.R.T).
While at the University of Miami, Dr. Selub initiated the first donor egg
program in South Florida. At present, F.I.R.S.T. continues to be the leading
donor egg program in the region. Currently, Dr. Selub is affiliated with the Memorial
Hospital West, Memorial
Regional Hospital, Weston
Regional HealthPark, and Broward
General Medical Center. Dr. Selub is a member of the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the Florida
Obstetric and Gynecologic Society.

Dr.
Yalcin Yavas,
Ph.D., HCLD, ELD, Laboratory Director.
Dr.
Yavas is certified as High-complexity
Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) and Embryology
Laboratory Director (ELD) by the American
Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). He is also licensed as
Clinical Laboratory Director by the State of Florida both in embryology and
andrology. Dr. Yavas received his Master of Science (M.S.)
degree from Washington
State University, Pullman, Washington, and his doctorate (Ph.D.) degree from University
of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, both in reproductive biology. Upon
completion of his Ph.D. degree, he acquired several years of extensive
experience in all aspects of Assisted Reproductive
Technologies (A.R.T.), including
micromanipulation. Dr. Yavas has particular expertise in intracytoplasmic sperm injection
(ICSI),
and has published many articles in scientific
journals. Dr. Yavas is a member of the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American
Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), the College
of Reproductive Biology, and the Canadian
Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS).
Dr. Yavas is also the designer and developer
of our web site, and he maintains and updates it on a regular basis.

Ms. Carmichael has been involved in the administration of infertility programs
for over ten years. Before coming to F.I.R.S.T., she was the administrator for
the infertility program at the University of Miami.
